About Me

Dr Claire Groark (DClinPsy, BSc)

Child Clinical Psychologist – HCPC Registered and BPS Chartered

Clinical psychologists aim to help people reduce psychological distress and to enhance and promote psychological well-being. They apply psychological models and theories of human functioning to try to explain and understand an individual’s difficulties (or those of a child or family) and to guide therapeutic planning and treatment.

I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2004 and have since worked independently and in NHS Trusts across the UK. I have experience of working in a wide range of settings with adults, older adults and children but my specialist skills are in working with children, families and foster carers.

I now work part-time for the NHS and part-time in private practice. In private practice, among other things, I provide Expert Witness reports for the Courts – as an expert in the psychological assessment of young children, adolescents and adults.
